Due to Intravenous (IV) hydration therapy’s recent surge in popularity, the term has become apart of our cultural lexicon. Intravenous hydration therapy is gaining immense traction, yet we’ve observed that people are still highly unfamiliar with the intricacies of the treatment. Many prospective patients have questions regarding IV therapy, which is completely valid.
The Rejuvenation Room strives to achieve transparency regarding this process, and ultimately aid you in your research. Hopefully, our list of frequently asked questions will assist you in your decision making, and ultimately enable you to feel confident in your decision!
Intravenous (IV) fluid drips deliver saline solution through a small catheter and tubing directly into the bloodstream. This solution usually includes medications and vitamin supplements that are tailored to the individual patient. During therapy, the nurse inserts an IV line which is attached to a bag of saline solution. The bags are designed to hang above the patients head in order to let gravity, as opposed to a syringe or other forced technique, carry fluid into the veins over time.
IV vitamin therapy is one of the most effective ways to deliver nutrients, vitamins, and fluids to your body and is more efficient than oral supplements as this technique bypasses your digestive system and is administered directly into your bloodstream. This enables your body to absorb the maximum amount of nutrients and fluids as nothing is lost due to the digestive process. In addition, the results are quicker as the vitamins and nutrients become immediately available to your cells. IV vitamin therapy improves overall wellness by providing 100% of the vitamins and nutrients your body needs to: improve immune health, boost energy levels, support healthy weight loss, improve symptoms of depression, relieve anxiety, improve mental clarity and cognitive function, reduce the symptoms of migraines, hangovers, upset stomachs and GI discomfort among many other positive results for your overall health.
The simple answer is, anyone! Whether you want to be proactive with your health, give your body an immune boost, ease chronic illness, are suffering from a hangover or food poisoning, are traveling soon, trying to shed a few pounds, are dehydrated, wanting clearer skin or trying to recover from a workout, we’ve got a vitamin drip for that! IV vitamin therapy can help improve overall health and wellbeing, boost immunity to help prevent catching a cold or the flu, recover from illnesses more quickly, boost energy levels and address a variety of specific health targets and goals.
Most people only absorb 20-30% of what they ingest when it comes to oral vitamins. Utilizing IV therapy allows the essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to bypasses the gut, providing 100% absorption and immediate use by your body.
Our bodies need a consistent amount of vitamins and minerals to promote optimal health. They play important roles in bodily functions such as immunity, digestion, metabolism supplying your body with energy as well as helping resist infections. Vitamin deficiencies can contribute to a variety of acute and long-term conditions. Antioxidants are an essential part of maintaining a healthy immune system, detoxifying your body and removing free radicals that can damage the cells and tissues in our bodies. They help make us less susceptible to diseases such as heart disease and cancer and improve our overall health. Antioxidants also play a role in energy production.
The Rejuvenation Room believes in optimal health and preventing disease. Your body needs maintenance just like your car! Keeping your immune system strong and your vitamin levels high allows your body to fight off disease and prevent sickness. Our vitamins and antioxidants also have anti-aging benefits and help keep cells healthy.
IV hydration can be an effective treatment for the dehydration many pregnant women experience due to morning sickness, however, we do advise pregnant women to consult their OB-GYN before booking an IV vitamin treatment with us. IV vitamin therapy can be used to treat vitamin deficiency as it provides essential nutrients if nausea or vomiting make keeping food down difficult while pregnant.
No, The Rejuvenation Room does not require blood work prior to receiving IV vitamin therapy. All of our treatments were created and put together by our team of Physicians and pharmacy partners who regulate safe and effective doses of nutrients. If pre-existing conditions are present, please inform your nurse before receiving treatment. Certain medications may decrease absorption of important vitamins and nutrients through oral supplementation so your nurse will make recommendations based on your specific needs.
All of our IV infusion specialists are Registered Nurses (RN) who are trained and experienced in administering IV treatments. They are supervised by our Medical Director, who is an MD.
On average, our IV treatments typically last between 15–45 minutes depending on the individual.
Everyone processes vitamins differently and at different rates but on average, people feel more hydrated and pain relieved immediately after receiving IV vitamin therapy. Usually, energy and mental clarity are the most noticeable improvements within 1-3 days of receiving treatment.
Your current health status will determine how long these nutrients will last in your body system. They usually have a lifespan of 7-10 days, however, the effects of these powerful vitamins may last much longer, as much as a few weeks. It is important to stay consistent with treatments as too much time between treatments will cause your blood serum levels to be depleted each time and we will essentially need to build the levels back up each time. The more consistent you are with your IV vitamin treatments, the better!
There are rarely any restrictions after receiving one of our IV or injection therapies, however, we do advise light activity as well as lots of rest afterwards. Drinking water will also help detox pathways if antioxidants were received.
Consistency with your IV vitamin treatments are important. Our medical staff will consult with you and make a recommendation as to how often you should get IV treatments based on your health history and individual needs.
